myKubota

I enhanced UX, UI, and branding for the myKubota app, including onsite research, design workshops, and migrating app experiences to native platforms, improving user engagement and multi-language support.

At Kubota Corporation, I played a pivotal role in enhancing the User Experience (UX), User Interface (UI), and branding for the myKubota app. This project aimed to revamp Kubota's customer-facing mobile application to better serve its North American community and reduce costs associated with telematics data. My involvement included conducting an onsite moderated research study, which informed a design thinking workshop leading to a comprehensive redesign of both the iOS and Android app experiences. I was instrumental in migrating the Android app from Xamarin to native, ensuring a seamless and efficient user experience.

The updated app now features improved communication, multi-language support, and proprietary telematics data solutions, providing users with real-time insights into their equipment's performance and location, ultimately empowering Kubota owners with enhanced functionality and cost savings.

Innovation and Differentiation

The myKubota app project transformed how Kubota Corporation uses technology to serve customers. Kubota needed to cut costs for telematics data and improve the user experience for North American customers. They wanted a solution to streamline operations and stand out from competitors in construction and farm machinery. The app uses real-time telematics data to give Kubota owners remote monitoring and diagnostics. Users can easily check equipment status and set up geofences. This innovation made Kubota a leader in combining advanced tech with practical field use.

Measurable Impact and Success

Redesigning the myKubota app brought clear benefits to Kubota and its customers. Moving the Android app from Xamarin to native platforms and improving the user interface boosted engagement and satisfaction. Better communication features and multiple languages helped Kubota serve diverse North American users. The new in-house telematics data solution cut reliance on outside services, saving money. Managing data internally and using swarm servers and automated systems sped up load times and improved efficiency. These changes cemented the app's role in Kubota's digital shift.

Creative Elements and Execution

The myKubota app succeeded due to careful execution of key creative elements. The team started with on-site user research to understand needs and preferences. This informed a design thinking workshop that shaped the iOS and Android app redesign. The new design improved looks and function, making it easy for users to access vital info like fuel levels, equipment history, and geofencing. The app's branding matched Kubota's identity, strengthening the connection between brand and users.

Overall Excellence and Industry Advancement

This app marks a big step forward in the industry. It shows how tech can make things better for customers and boost efficiency. The app blends advanced telematics with easy-to-use design giving Kubota owners tools to get the most out of their machines and cut costs. This project shows why it's key to include user input when designing and proves Kubota's drive to innovate. The myKubota app's success raises the bar for apps in the construction and farming sectors. It also cements Kubota's spot as a trailblazer in the market.
